Scala Contarini del BovoloContarinis snail staircase, called del Bovolo for the Venetian word for snail, is one of the architectural gems hidden in the winding streets of Venice. The exterior spiral staircase of the tower is lined by equally spiraling arched windows that mirror the windows of the building itself in a mixture of Early Renaissance, Byzantine and late Gothic styles.
