Simon goes Garda:  Limone sul Garda

The name of the town comes from the latin word "Limem", which means border, but commonly people think that the name is due to the typical local citrus fruit: the lemon. Their habitants live in just over a square kilometre of land. The valleys, forests and rocky cliffs that plunge into the lake create an almost enchanted setting. A group of houses at the foot of the mountain. A charming inlet enhanced by flowers-decked balconies and its distinctive tiny lanes

Limone, is the most northern town on the West bank of Lake Garda. With less than 1000 inhabitants Limone sul Garda is the main tourist centre in the Upper Lake Garda Park (Parco dell' Alto Garda), consist in nine municipalities. And stretches for about 38.269 hectares, half of which woodland. The landscape changes a lot with its fauna and flora if we go from the lake shore characterized by a typical Mediterranean vegetation, up the mountain level.

So enjoyable was my stay on Lake Garda in 2000,  that in October 2003 my sister joined me for a week on Lake Garda, this time staying at Limone on the western shore.
